We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Sport / Head of Girls Games. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced coach or teacher and aspiring leader to play a key role in further developing the sports offer at Taunton Prep School commencing September 2023.
Working alongside the Director of Sport, you will be responsible for developing core and emerging sports, generating new ideas to shape our sporting programme. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of the mechanisms of promoting achievement in competitive sport and the pathways and processes of high performance helping to build upon the current success and lead on promoting the high standards that the school prides itself on. Timetable remission will be given to support the successful applicant in fulfilling the requirements of the role.
You will also be responsible for leading the department team of staff and overseeing the extensive PE and girls' games provision and assist the Director of sport and senior management team with the overall strategic direction, leadership and management of sport across the Prep and Pre-Prep Schools.
Experience:
- Ability to teach a range of sports to a high level
- Proven record of subject success
- Experience of coaching netball and hockey to a high level
- Leadership skills
- Strong work ethic, personal organisation and a passion for teaching
- Ability to set challenging and ambitious targets
- Ability to motivate, inspire and lead students, staff and parents
The successful candidate will be paid a competitive salary on the Taunton School pay scale depending on qualifications and experience, plus an additional responsibility allowance.
