JOB SUMMARY:
To fulfil the duties of an Assistant Fire Safety Adviser for Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RBHFT, including all occupied and let buildings, in accordance with RBHFT Fire Safety Policy. This includes liaison with outside professional bodies, including, but not limited to: local Fire Authorities, Council Building Control, Architects, Design Teams, Building Inspectors and Local Fire and Rescue Service Operational Crews and Inspectors.

To promote fire safety compliance throughout the Trust and ensure that all premises maintain high standards of fire precautions in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and HTMO5. The post holder, in conjunction with the Trust Learning and Development Leads, is responsible for the delivery of statutory fire training to all Trust personnel, specialist courses for fire response teams, fire Marshals and patient evacuation techniques.

The post holder will deliver training and educational training sessions in conjunction with other members of the Fire, Compliance, Health and Safety and Risk Team as appropriate.

1. To advise the Trust on any issues which would result in failure to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other relevant legislation and guidance information
2. Provide informed advice to the Trust with regard to current best practice and technical guidance.

Review fire-related policies and procedures and ensure a programme of review and revision is undertaken as necessary. Contribute to other Trust wide polices as and when required.
