This role will be working in South Shields 30 hours per week over 4 days. You may be required to support in other stations across the Southern area of our force. Salary is based on full time hours.

Business Services are the team that hold our Force together. On any given week they liaise with a huge variety of stakeholders about numerous issues, and we’ve got a great opportunity to join our team in South Shields. You’ll need to be adaptable, up for a challenge and a great problem solver to join our team, where every day you learn something new!
One minute you’ll be helping an internal colleague with a general query and using our computer systems to ensure information is logged, the next ordering uniform and equipment for one of our officers. You’ll be supporting with Health and Safety checks to ensure our station is a safe place for colleagues to work, and you might need to step in to support coordinate the removal of property. Working for a Police Force is unique in nature, and this role is truly different from your typical admin role!
You’ll need to be fantastically organised and have excellent communication skills for this role. What do I need?
- Excellent administration skills and an ability to remain calm when under pressure
- Exceptional planning and organisation skills – you’ll need to evidence that you can deliver a high quality service to internal and external customers, as well as prioritising workload appropriately
- The ability to problem solve and use initiative to make effective decisions independently
- You must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to communicate at all levels
- Experience of databases, spread-sheets and working within a strong team working culture.
