Innovation and Growth Specialist

A hybrid role combining client visits, office-based activity at the nearest BIC Innovation office in either North or South Wales and the ability to work at home as needed.

Innovate UK EDGE is a key part of the UK innovation agency’s investment in the innovative businesses that drive economic growth. It complements Innovate UK project funding with intensive, specialist-led support for such ambitious businesses.

To deliver upon this initiative throughout Wales, BIC Innovation is seeking an Innovation & Growth Specialist with specific Financial and/ or Green Tech expertise to join our specialist team.

The Role

Reporting to the Programme Manager, as an Innovation and Growth Specialist you will support some of the most ambitious SMEs in Wales and focus on helping companies to benefit from national and global opportunities to become tomorrow's global success stories.

As a key member of our specialist team, you will be an individual who is capable of being a combination of coach, mentor, critical friend, and champion to an exceedingly demanding group of client companies.

Your responsibilities will include, although will not be limited to:

· Engaging and advising a portfolio of clients, delivering high quality support in a timely manner

· Leading on strategic business advice

· Reporting and monitoring activity and providing accurate and timely information to our Support Team

Our Requirements

· Extensive experience of working with SME clients in an advisory capacity at various stages of the business cycle from start up, growth, through to maturity

· Specific and demonstratable experience of working with SME clients in developing their strategies.

· Ideally you are from a financial background, with experience in fund sourcing and financial planning.

· You may have some experience with Green Technology markets, but this is not essential to the role.

The Package:
As the Innovation and Growth Specialist, you’ll be employed by a flexible and supportive employer that fosters a work-life balance culture and you will also benefit from:

· Permanent contract, working 37.5 hours per week within Monday to Friday
· Salary in the region of £45,000 to £55,000, with the level based on experience
· 25 days starting annual leave plus bank holidays. Additional service days available with up to 30 days annual leave
