If you enjoy working with people and are you interested in working alongside physiotherapists within a hospital setting this could be the job for you.
We are looking for a capable and adaptable individual to join our friendly Musculoskeletal Out-patient Physiotherapy team at the Leicester Royal Infirmary for 30 hours per week.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be motivated, organised and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will need to have had experience of working with a variety of different people. Clerical experience and the ability to use computers are desirable in these posts, as some administrative and clerical duties are involved.
Previous experience in therapy is desirable, however work experience in a healthcare setting will be considered if appropriate. There will be a programme of development to be undertaken to develop you into the role that will need to be completed in your first 18 months in post.

Job Summary
To be based in the Adult Musculoskeletal Outpatient Department providing Physiotherapy interventions to patients with Musculoskeletal conditions. Interventions provided in addition to those below will include working with Physiotherapists to assist with the delivery of class/group sessions and hydrotherapy.
- Physiotherapy provides key therapeutic assessments and interventions to patients in order to promote independence and facilitate optimum function for individuals. This is achieved by working with patients, families and carers and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve agreed outcomes for patients.
- The Physiotherapy Assistant is a member of the Physiotherapy Team and assists other Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff within their direct team and wider Therapy service in the performance of their duties as detailed below.
- The post holder will work under direction of any member of the Therapy team who has relevant delegation responsibilities to assist with patient treatment and other departmental duties.
- To work with patients, carers and their families in a sensitive and professional manner.
- To work to Therapy and UHL Service priorities.
- To liaise with other professionals for the benefit of the patient
- To work with those who may have complex needs including physical, psychological and communication difficulties.
