Job summary
The Travel Cell Clerk will be will responsible for the booking of routine, compassionate, resettlement and operational duty travel for RAF Lossiemouth Military Personnel and MOD Civilians. You will be working as part of a small Team and report to the Travel and Assurance Manager
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The post holder will be responsible for:
Booking civil air flights, rail, ferries, Eurotunnel and hotel accommodation.
Checking all Applications for Duty Travel are in accordance with JSP 752 Tri-Service Regulations for Expenses & Allowances and JSP 800 Defence Movement and Transport Regulations and have been authorised by Line Managers and delegated Cost Centre Managers.
Paying for Adhoc ferries by Electronic Purchasing Card (ePC) and keeping an auditable record of all transactions.
Maintaining an accurate ePC Register, Movement Financial Authority Register, Travel Application Register and paper & electronic filing system.
Issuing of all travel documents to personnel and reiterating the relevant travel regulations. Provide costings for civil air flights, rail, ferries, Eurotunnel and hotel accommodation.
Provide a helpful and efficient service to customers and Cost Centre Managers in person and on the telephone.
Deputise for the Travel Cell Supervisor, as required, during periods of absence.
Person specification
You must be able to work as part of team and on your own initiative, making effective decisions on travel booking options.
You must be IT iterate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
The successful applicant will have to complete the MOD mandatory courses and the ePC training package.
