We have a great opportunity for a Waste Management Operative to join our Facilities Team on a permanent basis, and we’re thrilled to say that this role will be based at our brand-new Fulfilment Centre in Harpole, Northampton and will operate on a rotating weekly shift pattern of 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm.
In this role, supporting our Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that a high standard of cleaning and waste management is maintained in-line with our Food Safety Standards across our Fulfilment Centre. You will play an important part in the team by promoting best practice across our brand-new site and creating a collaborative and safe environment for all employees.
SHOW US HOW ITS DONE
Waste management to include disposal of waste card, plastic and general waste using the correct waste streams
Organisation and disposal of any food waste on site
Complete training specific to your duties consisting of:
Health and Safety – COSHH, manual handling, food safety cleaning standards, personal hygiene
Core skills – cleaning schedules, glass and spillages, time management
Ensuring that the bailing areas are always kept clean and that adequate bailing wires are available.
Undertake yard duties consisting of:
Loading waste bails and food waste onto trailers
Removal of overgrown vegetation around site
Ensuring all walkways are salted as and when needed during the winter months
Keeping the smoke shelters clean
Litter picking around site parameters
Organisation of all pallets within the yard
General upkeep of yard
Assist across the Fulfilment operation creating a collaborative environment and team work ethic
Promote best practice and implement a fun and safe environment for employees, making suggestions for improving service and facilities
WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU HAVE
Practical and ‘hands-on’, with a can-do attitude
Reliable and trustworthy
Motivated and self-starter, working on your own initiative
Experience in a cleaning role would be desirable
MHE licence – Training can be given
Strong multi-tasking & time management skills with an ability to prioritise a demanding schedule
