Welfare Support Officer

£27,000 per annum
Full time - Permanent - 40hrs per week
Including Company vehicle and fuel card
There is an expectation that any candidates will need to undertake OOH duties. This includes being on ‘standby’. This is paid at £30 per week day and £50 weekend day. They may be a requirement to attend properties / service users during OOH. This is paid at x 1.5.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team here at Mears as a Welfare Support Officer. Based in Hull and surrounding areas. You will primarily be a Welfare Support Officer proving practical and emotional support to service users, monitoring service users’ wellbeing and support needs and ensuring all records are updated and accurate for home office audit purposes.
What the role Involves
Provide appropriate practical and emotional support ensuring that each service user has a support and risk management plan in place
Monitor service users’ well-being and support needs, provide advice, assistance
Ensuring all records and IT data on systems remains updated with accurate and up to date information in line with contractual requirements.
Delivery of service through sign posting, direct referral and encouraging wider community involvement
Management and mitigation of service user well-being risk and escalation in line with policy and procedure.
We are looking for an experienced Welfare Support Officer who can identify individual and family needs, use your own initiative and be supportive, approachable, and trustworthy to service users, clients, and colleagues.
Experience of working with vulnerable and diverse client groups
Ability to identify individuals and family need and recognise the required support packages to maintain independence
To communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Ability to work under own initiative.
You will be supportive, trustworthy, a good listener, approachable and empathetic to others
