It is an exciting time to be involved in health, wellbeing, and community support in Doncaster. The Doncaster Growing Together Borough Strategy has set out to change the way that public services deliver community support. Our ambitions are being realised through our inclusion in two national programmes which will test place-based, community-led health and well-being approaches across Doncaster.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for improving public health and wellbeing to join our Well Doncaster team. The team undertake community centred approaches to address health inequalities across Doncaster. The approaches have been recognised nationally for our strengths-based approach for working with, and for our residents influencing whole systems change across team Doncaster. We are looking for an individual who is experienced in Community Centred approaches, who can demonstrate a working knowledge of implementing community based public health approaches and has excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Asset Based Community Development and key partners would also be beneficial.
With additional investment through our status as a Local Delivery Pilot, we are looking to work in close partnership with the Get Doncaster Moving team to further expand what we do to build in innovative solutions to tackling inactivity in our communities. The link between health and physical activity has a compelling evidence base and this post will be at the forefront of developing sustainable and innovative approaches to improve health outcomes in communities.
